BNP standing committee member barrister Moudud Ahmeed alleged the appointment of the chief justice was being delayed, which he considered as an evil design of the government. He was speaking at a program organized in protest of arrest of two party leaders in press club yesterday. Moudud said: “there is no room to keep the post vacant for a single day. But the law minister said there is no fixed timetable about the appointment, which is not true.” The BNP leader said it is part of an evil design to delay in appointing the chief justice. Referring to the government, he said “It is not that we don’t understand your plan. But don’t do that.Don’t destroy the institution.“You should make the appointment immediately” Barrister Moudud said like that of PM, the CJ’s post can’t remain vacant for a single day.” He also alleged they are delaying in a bid to keep the pressure of justices.
