Bandarban Gonoshanghati Council President Usomong Marma claimed that, several groups are accusing Bandarban Gonoshanghati Council members for the kidnapping of Mongpu Marma, on 13 June 2016. Since then, their council members are being hassled with falsified police charges, chased & being harassed daily. Gonoshanghati Council arranged a protest assembly at the Bandarban district office, at 11am yesterday. Their Publicity Secretary Nittolal Chakma informed these to the press. Including the Upazilla Chairman & Union Parishad Chairman, many other prominent figures were present at the event. Usomong Marma also claimed that, Bandarban Gonoshanghati Council is a democratic & progressive political party. They officially registered on 2 December in 1997. The recent violent actions against them were utterly conspiratorial & undemocratic.
