Sitting-service resolution committee turned in their first report regarding the inner-city bus sitting services, on 17 October. They have submitted this to BRTA & regarded ministries for assessment, after 3 months of research. Unfortunately, there are no lawful inner-city routes for such services. Hence, judiciary complexities are hindering with all their decisions. Thus, the committee has provided with 26 possible & feasible proposals, rather than a full closure. Bangladesh Road Transpiration Administration (BRTA) is facing difficulties in resolving this issue as well. Though, BRTA has issued ban to stop all inner-city bus sitting services, from 15 April. But, it resulted into drastically reduced number of public transportations in the city-streets for next 3 days. Also, few other unfruitful events. Hence, BRTA sat with the Bus Owners Association to temporary withdraw this ban until everyone agreed on a resourceful consensus, on 19 April.
Proposals from the committee included – setting provisions on public demand to keep few sitting services running, differently coloring & setting fairs for these buses by the government, slab based fair charging on different routes, limited stoppages and only specific few sitting-service companies will be permitted to operate etc.
