Independent Integrated Cell Needed for Most Effective Disaster Management

    Though, Bangladesh has received several recognition for remarkable performances in the past disaster managements. Still, many complexities often occur due to the lack of a specific cell for this purpose. Improper initiations compromises the efficiency. Thus, leading into greater count of avoidable losses. Parliamentary Standing Committee Member of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, Dhirendra Debnath Shambhu urged the need for forming an independent integrated cell for the most effective disaster management, by stating these facts. At seminar event for the International Day for Disaster Reduction, he presented this proposal in his speech, as the Chief Guest. The event was arranged at the Osmani Auditorium, on yesterday. Meantime, Minister of Disaster Management and Relief, Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya claimed that, Bangladesh has become a role-model in the world for successfully tackling 5 disasters in 4 months, this year. Except volcanic eruption, Bangladesh had to face almost all other calamities, he added. The Minister also admired the selfless & tireless contribution of the volunteer-groups, BNCC, Ansar, Police, RAB & armed forces, during these disasters. They are real heroes who made Bangladesh a role-model.
