After countless delays and unprofessionalism, French contractor company Oberthur Technologies (OT) totally stopped their work for the Smar-Card Project for Bangladesh. As a result, the project is totally at halt.
EC will be going the International Court to accuse OT for their negligence, for failing to meet the deal of finishing this project by 30 June. EC is thinking about making these Smart-Cards in the country and continue the process.
Since, 14 January 2015, OT has failed to meet any of their target steps. Their progress report analysis showed their utter negligence about this project. Therefore, authorities have decided not to increase their time-limit further no more.
EC officers informed that, from now on they will be importing the blank-cards and processing the cards in the country.
