Expatriate Welfare Bank (EWB) assures to loan 1-2 lacs taka on 2 years term (1 year for Singapore only), to anyone possessing a legal visa to go abroad for work.
Any labor & employed person to a foreign company can apply with their attached copies of, 3 photos, municipal or union parishad certification with current & permanent address, a photocopy of NID card and signed witness papers from relatives or locals. The processing will not even take more than 3 days and the applicant will be informed via sms. EWB Sub-Managerial Director Bodore Munir Ferdous mentions that, EWB’s sole purpose was to help the leaving expatriates with loans since its establishment in 2011. EWB has made it possible for them, not sell-out all their belonging to go abroad for jobs. EWB has come a long way and about 12 times more efficient. Over 230 crores taka was loaned to 24 thousand people so far. 90% of it already had been collected. Recently Ways Earners Welfare Foundation Board officially offered EWB a hefty 50 crores taka cheque. It was handed by the Expatriate Welfare Minister Nurul Islam to the EWB MD in a ceremony, on 17 April.
