Election Commission is welcoming any new political parties to register for participating in the upcoming parliamentary election. This is the part of their announced roadmap for the Parliamentary Election 2018-2019. The registration will take place in October. Several parties showed their interest and asked for this opportunity.
EC will start the evaluation & announce the accepted registrations by February. Finally, they wishes to publish the final list of political parties attending the next election, in March of next year.
Currently, there are names of 42 political parties in the list of registered parties contesting in the next election. Out of these, actually 40 has been accepted for the election. 14th no. party, Jamaat-e-Islami’s registration has been canceled due to court-order. Until October, EC will give opportunities to these old parties to sort out their conditions given to them by EC, to keep their registration valid till the end of election.
