Afrida Ahmed: Protesters are planning to give abortion pills this week from a bus touring Northern Ireland in protest against the ban on terminations in the area.
After the referendum in Republic on Friday, Northern Ireland will be the only place in UK and Ireland where abortion is prohibited.
Members of Rosa (Reproductive Rights, Against Oppression, Sexism & Austerity) will distribute the pills from a bus which will be touring Belfast, Derry, Lisburn and Cookstown.
Theresa May has been pressurized to solve this issue in the Northern Island. But, May said that the issue is for Northern Ireland to decide.
Abortion is only allowed if the life or mental health of the mother is at risk.
According to an anti-abortion organisation in Northern Island, both the child and mother lives matter. They called the police to arrest all pro-choice activists and stop abortion pills from getting distributed.
One of the Rosa activists, Courtney Robinson, said that Northern Island is the only place in Europe except Malta after this weekend where there is an almost total ban on abortion.
Robinson and other activists distributed abortion pills from the Irish republic into Northern Ireland through a drone two years ago.
