Feni District Awami League’s executive member M Azharul Haque on Tuesday alleged the party’s district unit general secretary and MP Nizam Uddin Hazari of masterminding the attack on BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s convoy in Feni last month. Around 30 vehicles and almost 45 people were injured in the incident. Azharul Haque Arzu, member of Feni district unit Awami League termed the attack “Premedicated” and said Nizam Hazari played a key role behind the attack. He was addressing a press conference at National Press Club in Dhaka. It is also claimed that vehicles of some media outlets (DBC, Ekattor TV, Channel-I, and Boishakhi TV, Prothom Alo and The Daily Star) were targeted and vandalized by the cadres of Nizam Hazari that day to take revenge for the news reports against him, said Arzu while reading out a written statement. He also alleged that numerous people of local Hindu Community were threatened by Nizam Uddin Hazari. As a series of allegations of money laundering, murder, corruption, filing false cases and plotting attacks on rivals against the ruling AL MP, Nizam Hazari, Azhar said the party general secretary assured him of “solving the issues”.
