BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir called the Chief Election Commissioner to prove their neutrality in terms of their works instead of trying to bring political parties in the elections by means of flattery. Fakhrul was speaking at a discussion organized by Maulana Bhasani Smriti sangsad at Dhaka Reporters Unity in capital yesterday. The BNP leader said: “He [CEC] lauded Ziaur Rahman as a Founder of multiparty democracy during its dialogue with BNP, highlighted Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s contributions while talking with AL, and praised Ershad at the meeting with Jatiya Party. Mirza Fakhrul said “we want to say it clearly that there is no need of flattering anyone, rather prove that you are really neutral with your works.”
