Speakers at a discussion yesterday pointed out lack of partnership between Myanmar and Bangladesh hampering the solution of the Rohingya crisis. Some of them suggested relocations of the massive plight of Rohingyas that entered Bangladesh in other Muslim nations and liberal countries. They also called for deploying diplomacy, focusing on China and Russia, in order to resolve the issue, as these countries had openly taken the side of Myanmar in this regard.Bangladesh Heritage Foundation (BHF) held a national dialogue on Rohingya issue with politicians, diplomats, academics, professionals and experts in the auditorium of Bangladesh Institute of Strategic Studies yesterday morning. M. S. Siddiqui, a columnist and part-time faculty at Daffodil university, said There is not much of trading between Bangladesh and Myanmar. if the nations had more business partnerships, Bangladesh would have more leverage in the negotiation table. Emphasizing on a good diplomatic strategy, Brig. General (Retired) M Mofizur Rahman said: “We have to deploy diplomacy, focusing on China, Russia.”
