Iti, Tomari Dhaka to open Jaipur int’l film fest

    DOT Desk: Omnibus film ‘Iti, Tomari Dhaka’ (Sincerely Yours, Dhaka) is going to open the 11th Jaipur International Film Festival in India on January 18, reports The New Age. Iti, Tomari Dhaka, which had its world premiere at 23rd Busan International Film Festival in South Korea in October, 2018, is a collection of 11 short films themed on Dhaka made by 11 directors.
    ‘It is an honour for us to see the first Bangladeshi omnibus film to raise curtain of a prestigious festival like the Jaipur International Film festival,’ said Abu Shahed Emon, executive producer of Iti, Tomari Dhaka.
    The five-day festival will screen over a hundred films from different countries including India, Bangladesh, Iran, Switzerland, France, Canada, USA, Finland, Singapore, Brazil, Germany, Peru, Cambodia, South Africa and others.
    Iti, Tomari Dhaka, which has also been screened at festivals in Indonesia and India, features diverse aspects of the megacity Dhaka including its heritage and traditions, people and professions, dreams and nightmares through eleven short films directed by Nuhash Humayun, Tanvir Ahsan, Rahat Rahman, Krishnendu Chattopadhyay, Mahmudul Islam, Golam Kibria Farooki, Mir Mokarram Hossain, Rabiul Alam, Saleh Ahmed, Ahmed Shawki and Tanim Noor.
