11th national Election being held in ghastly environment

Dr. Emajuddin Ahamed speaks to DOT  : 
Awami League president Sheikh Hasina said that the BNP appeared to have sensed its defeat in the 11th parliamentary election, and that the opposition party had attempted to sabotage the polls. She also said that BNP so far killed five AL leaders, injured 141, attacked 170 election offices and houses and exploded bombs in 54 places. In this regard, Dr. Emajuddin Ahamed said that today is the 11th national parliamentary election and BNP is participating in this election despite of the continuous threat against its party officials and leaders. The congenial environment required for conducting a free and fair election is totally missing today. BNP candidates were attacked and were victims of numerous false cases. They are still busy in self –defence as the ruling party with the aid of law enforcers is trying to sabotage the poll in every possible way. It is inconceivable to the people how the Prime Minister is making a false claim that their leaders were attacked by anyone from BNP as the truth is that the 11th national Election is being held in a ghastly environment.
