Desk Report: The apprehended person was denying time and again that he was carrying anything illegal inside his stomach, reports the Asian Age. Officials of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport forced him to drink juice. Then he was fed bread and banana.
The next was light workout-viola! The man released gold bars and ornaments from inside his bowl worth Tk 35 lakh. He confessed to carrying gold bars, weighing 564 grams, and ornaments hidden in his rectum. The passenger was identified as Mohammad Salauddin. He was carrying four gold bars and gold ornaments.
Salauddin was apprehended early Friday on a tip-off. Director General (DG) of CIID Dr Shahidul Islam, said a flight of ‘Emirates Airlines’ landed at the airport around 12:30 am from Dubai.
A team of CIID challenged Salauddin while crossing the green zone of the airport. Later, he was handed over to Airport Police Station.
