We can hold talks and the result will be the same like before if a party refuses to take part in the polls. All parties should participate in the electoral race. Chances of a good election increases manifold if all parties join the electoral race.
There is no harm in holding a dialogue. However, the dialogue should aim at holding a good election within the present electoral framework. There is no time and chance to make changes to the present structure of the government or state.
A dialogue can be held over how a good election can be held within the present constitution. There is very little time left to hold a dialogue because the parliamentary election is not far away. The election schedule will be announced during the course of the dialogue.
Therefore, holding a new round of talks will not help. We have seen it for many years that discussions were held over non-partisan and neutral caretaker government. There is no chance to discuss these issues again.
I think it is going to be a good general election if all parties take part in it. Otherwise, it will not be a good poll. It will be the final achievement of dialogue if all parties join the race.
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has been demanding a new electoral structure but the party has not come up with any concrete proposal yet. People are not still clear about what the party actually wants.
