Dr. Md. Tajul Islam, Professor, National Institute of Mental Health : Many premature deaths have been caused by the ill competition between the drivers. These drivers have to be held responsible.
Their recklessness has caused many to their deaths. They are arrogant and not willing to listen to anybody. But whatever they do, they are the one to blame.
Now, the pedestrians, aren’t they to be blamed? Do they obey their responsibilities properly? I do not think so. They have troublesome mentalities as well.
Most of us play most sensible role while crossing the road. But there are many from the villages who are uneducated, unaware of the rules. Awareness should be made available for them.
There goes a phrase obeyed by those who understand it; life is worth more than time. But those who do not, certainly gives no interest about the importance of doing such. They do not even have the capability to understand the width of the window they are creating by following disorders. Pedestrians must use the overbridges built for crossing the roads. Nowhere in the world there is such practice of crossing the roads running through the active traffic.
The only difference between them and us is that they obey their rules and we don’t. We never even try to. We do not possess such mentality. Our mentality is the only to blame here.
We want everything to be quickly done with. And its influences are also noticed in the streets. We must avoid such mentality and start abide by the rules.
