Afrida Ahmed: During a clash between auto-rickshaw workers and cops, 30 people were injured at Nasratpur in Shaistaganj upazila of Habiganj yesterday morning, reports Banglanews24.According to locals, police blocked the auto-rickshaw drivers to drive their vehicles on Dhaka-Sylhet highway as it was banned. Workers went to the streets blocking the highway with banners and festoons as a protest. A clash occurred when the police tried to stop them.Police sneized five auto-rickshaws on Thursday for driving on the highway despite the High Court order, Shaistaganj highway police station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Jasimuddin informed Banglanews. The auto-rickshaw owners and drivers requested the police to release the vehicles but the policemen did not. As a result, they blocked the highway on Friday and clash erupted as police tried to remove them. At least 10 policemen were injured in the fight. One local said that the injured people were taken to Shaistaganj upazila health complex.
