German minister wants to rebuild trust with Russia after spy standoff

Nabin Talukder: German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas qouted on Sunday that he wants to resume dialogue with Russia and slowly improve their ties after the diplomatic expulsions over a nerve attack on a former Russian spy in England that Britain blames on Russia. Conversative German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Maas have joined the United States and other European nations in remaining with Britain in a major standoff over the attack on previous double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter. Maas, a member from the Social Democrats (SPD) who are split on how intense to be on Moscow, said Bild am Sonntag much trust had been lost over the most recent couple of years because of Russia’s conduct.
