One worker was killed and her eight colleagues sustained burn injuries after a gas cylinder exploded in a cosmetic factory at Kaliakoir upazila of Gazipur.The deceased is Shefali Akter, 30, wife of Abdul Manna hailing from Polashtoli area in the upazila. However, the injured could not be identified immediately.Sources said the accident took place at the factory called SF Cosmetics Ltd around 4:30pm yesterday.The number of injured is expected to increase since 35 people were working when the cylinder went off with a loud noise. Fire generated in a flash and started to spread throughout the factory, locals and witnesses said.Though many workers managed to escape the fire, some of their colleagues were trapped inside the factory and ended up sustaining burn wounds.Finally, nine injured workers were rescued from the site of the accident and sent to different hospitals.
