President Leaves for Emergency OIC Summit Palestine Wants to See Bangladesh in an Important Role

    President Md. Abdul Hamid left for the extraordinary leaders’ summit of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) over the issue of Jerusalem, on Monday night. It will be held at Istanbul, the capital of Turkey. He will also meet with the foreign-affairs minister & top-delegates of each member nations in separate meetings. State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shahriar Alam will be with him as well, in this oversea tour. Shahriar Alam will be leading the group of Bangladeshi diplomats at these meetings. President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan urgently invited officials from 57 Muslim countries for this meeting. After, US President Donald Trump announced Jerusalem the capital of Israel. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also negatively reacted to this announcement by Trump. She requested all the Muslim nations to unite and approach for a peaceful solution by implementation of the UN Resolution. Palestine embassy’s Head of Mission in Dhaka Yousuf SY Ramadan said to the media that, he really appreciated the PM’s stance with Palestine with this issue. Bangladesh had always been by their side. Just like her, all the Muslim brothers-sisters should unite spontaneously and participate in fighting for this cause, he added. Yousuf Ramadan also believes that, Bangladesh might a play an important role at this summit.
