In yet another major reshuffle in public service, the government has promoted 128 joint secretaries to the rank of additional secretary.A gazette notification issued by the public administration ministry led to the development yesterday.However, news agency UNB reported that it was not clear how the government will accommodate the newly promoted officers. There are 111 permanent posts for additional secretaries, with the new government move raising the figure to 560.Another round of promotion of public servants to joint and deputy secretaries is also in the offing, an official of the ministry told bdnews24.com.After the promotions, the number of joint secretaries stands at 653.
