Survivors of prison sexual assault wrote Christmas cards to currently incarcerated victims. Family, Friends and volunteers joined from across the U.S. The annual Words of Hope campaign is organized by Just Detention International, a non-profit organization that advocates for incarcerated rape victims. Every year JDI sends 700 inmates a bundle of letters each. Approximately 200,000 people are sexually assaulted every year behind the bars. JDI works with prisons to combat sexual assault. The organization believes the crisis can be end if they continue their work.
