At least 15 people were killed and 10 people were injured in Morocco where 800 people were gathered to receive food.The interior ministry informed that the accident took place in the town of Sidi Boulaalam, around 60 kilometres from Essaouira.According to local reports,a benefactor started to distribute food from his stall when all of a sudden it quickly submerged by 800 people. Authorities said an investigation was going on to determine what happened and who had caused it.The interior ministry said King Mohammed VI ordered to provide all kinds of financial help and support to the injured and the families of the victims.A doctor and a witnes who remained anonymous said the accident happened at an annual charitable distribution of flour and there were hundreds of people present.
The local authorities present there were completely overwhelmed. Even when there were people on the ground suffering, some people kept on fighting for food.Previous distributions also caused panic but there were only four police officers present this year, said Teacher Manar Khouda.
