Prime Minister Saad Hariri has confirmed that he will return to Lebanon on Wednesday to participate in the Independence Day celebrations. He will explain his situation and try to solve the political disturbance that caused after he resigned two weeks ago. He said he will meet with President Michel Aoun before he takes any steps. According to reports, the reason for his failure to return to Lebanon was he was held captive in Riyadh against his will. But he denied such rumors. He also said he all take all the necessary steps to stabilize Lebanon. His sudden resignation has raised fear over Lebanon’s weak democracy. His resignation happened after the rivalry between Saudi Arabia and Iran strengthened. This created chaos on Lebanon’s politics as it will get very difficult for Hezbollah to find a Sunni politician willing to lead a new coalition government.
