Kashmir is witnessing dangerous trend of radicalization of among youths and 20 year old Majid Khan is the latest on the list. The bright district-level footballer from South Kashmir’s Anantnag and a student who topped his school in class 12 in Commerce stream has joined terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Majid’s picture with an AK-47 had gone viral on Friday. Soon, his family’s worst fears came true that he has chosen the path of terrorism. Majid was influenced by his close friend Yawar Nisar who joined militants in July but was killed within a month. Majid’s family is at utmost shock, his father even suffered a mild cardiac attack. His mother has been grieving inconsolably. 31 youths have joined Hizbul Mujahideen, Lashkar and Jaish-e-Mohammad in the past 2.5 months in South Kashmir.
