    Jafar Ahmad

Legalizing the mobile-finance would increase the government remittance flow. Since, none will look for any other alternatives than the mobile-banking, if it is commonly acceptable & available. Assures, former Bangladesh Bank governor Prof. Dr. Atiur Rahman during an interview with Amader Orthoneeti. Atiur Rahman suggested that, Bangladesh Bank (BB) should take some proactive initiations. In order to, redirect the flow of remittance into banking channels. Only then government will be benefitted. Such as, creating the opportunity of opening nostro accounts by the native commercial banks, in the foreign central banks. But, BB has to make the first step to discuss about this with the individual central banks of the foreign countries. Later, the mobile-banking service providers can also open their services for the Bangladeshi expatriates living in those foreign lands, via those nostro accounts in their foreign central banks. Thus, officializing this procedure would ultimately legalize it.
