Paul Manafort, Mr Trump’s former campaign chairman surrendered to the FBI and said he was innocent to the charges that were filed against him. Manafort and his lieutenant Rick Gates were accused of charges which include money laundering, failing to register as a foreign agent, making false statements and buying expensive clothes, real estate and luxury cars with the laundered money.
On the other hand, George Papadopoulos who is a Chicago-based international lawyer has confessed about lying to the FBI regarding the contacts he had with Russian nationals while he worked for Mr. Trump.Finally, Manafort was released with a $10m bond which would guarantee his future court appearances. They will not have to pay the money unless they break any court rules. They have to call the law enforcement everyday, make court appearances and attend meetings with the lawyers while they stay in house custody.
