Record Number of Bangladeshi Laborers Going Abroad This Year

    Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment estimates that, total of 10 lacs Bangladeshi laborers may go abroad this year. Already, 7 lacs 36 thousand 461 have left for their jobs to several countries. In comparison, 7 lacs 56 thousand 731 were sent abroad by the end of last year. Bangladesh may create a new record for supplying most number of manpower in the international labor market in 2017, claimed Minister Nurul Islam. January-September statistic report of Bureau of Manpower Employment & Training show that, most of these laborers were sent to middle-eastern countries. Most went to Saudi Arab, at total of 4 lacs 12 thou sand 397. Also, many went to Sudan, Malaysia & Singapore, in the counts of thousands. Least amount of laborers went to Europe. Only one Italy. Some also found jobs in other Asian countries such as, Brunei, Mauritius & Japan.
