Regional platform to combat terrorism

    AIG (Intelligence and Special Affairs) of Police Moniruzzaman on Wednesday highlighted the position of militancy in Bangladesh and regional context. A regional platform will be developed to curb terrorism and militancy. He said this at a two-day workshop that began in Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday. The US State Department’s Counter Terrorism and Countering Violence organize a workshop. Representatives from different countries participating in the conference praised this proposal. United States, Australia, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Philippines, Thailand, United Kingdom and Interpol are participating in the workshop.
    It is to be noted that representatives from the workshop participated in the implementation of the Counter Terrorism Policy discussed at the 86th General Meeting of Interpol held in Beijing from September 26 to 29.
