Low-Pressure in the Bay of Bengal: Wide Range of Areas by the Potenga Beach Were Flooded

    Low-pressure effect in the Bay of Bengal caused to flood wide range of areas by the beach of Potenga, on yesterday noon. Over 400 beachside shops & roads went under water. Residents are panicking. Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla & Payra seaports were instructed to signal 3 no. local warning. Boats & trawllers at the sea, are suggested to stay at safe locations until further notice.

    Chittagong residents are also irritated about the clogged up roads due to consecutive raining since Sunday, caused by the same low-pressure effect. But they are blaming the authority, for not cleaning up the drainage lines & removing the temporary Moheshkhali damn, in time. 2 no. gate, Chakbazar & people from other areas are suffering in the floods caused by the rain. Meteorological Department reports, the low-pressure effect occurred during the midnight at the north-west side of the Bay of Bengal.
