I have always been fascinated seeing someone type on the keyboard at the speed of light. I mean, the clicking-clacking sound seemed to have always grabbed my attention. Now there are no secret tricks to become a fast typist but there are some tips which might seem handy if you want to acquire the skills of typing at a respectable speed. With some patience and persistence, you can actually conquer the master of typing.
1. Positions: Make sure that you body position and your postures are right when you sit to type. You should be comfortable with the set up and the surrounding atmosphere. Your wrists should be on the same level as the keyboard so that your fingers can arch over the keys easily.
2. Keyboard: This is the obvious bit; know your keyboard well. If your aim is to be a fast typist, memorizing the positions of each character is compulsory. Along with that, you need to flexible in accessing each key. Knowing you keyboard better will help you type at a faster pace.
3. Practice: Once you know your position and have learnt your keyboard well enough, start practicing.
The only way you can improve is through intensive practice sessions. Practice by looking at the keyboard, without looking at the keyboard, hearing audio files, dictating while typing; basically practice in all form of ways to reach you assigned target.
