Unlike wrapping up all the mysteries and concluding all the facts the Friendskind of ended in a hurry. Left us the fans questioning many mysteries even after the finale. Such as, who was the actual actor of the famous chill Ugly Naked Guy? The answer was nowhere to be found. So Huffington Post took on the challenge to dig this up. Thanks to them, after a year-long investigation they finally were able reveal the identity of Ugly Naked Guy.
Several sources suggested that Michael Hagerty, who played building superintendent Mr. Treeger, also played Ugly Naked Guy on Friends. But that turned out to be false.
Funny thing,even the creator of the show, David Crane had no clue about who played the part. When all hope seemed lost, valuable clue was provided by producer Todd Stevens.
He told Huffington Post, “Here’s what I remember. It was an extra, and we wanted it to fly under the radar because we didn’t want somebody, like, being Ugly Naked Guy. We just had Central [booking agency] send a few people over. It was not somebody with a history on the show.’
After long waiting for a year,they finally received a word from the Ugly Naked Guy. His actual name is Jon Haugen. 98FM also tweeted on 1 Jun noon, “This is Jon Haugen, he’s the official Ugly Naked Guy from Friends#98fmBigBreakfast”
The Ugly Naked Guy made his way into many episodes. Though he was only seen on-screen two times – in third season’s ‘The One with The Giant Poking Device’ and fifth season’s ‘The One Where Everybody Finds Out’ – in which we see Ugly Naked Guy chilling with Ross, eats muffins with him in a bid to get his great apartment. Though, we never got to see his face in any of those episodes.
Haugen called Huffington Post and said, “You want to let the world know who the real Ugly Naked Guy is, huh? There’s only one Ugly Naked Guy, man, and that was me.”
