Traveling is food for the soul, that’s why it should be on everyone’s bucket list to take a solo trip at least once in anyone’s life. Travelling alone will give you great insight into who you are as a person, your strengths and weaknesses, it will also make you more practical worldly and even more grateful. If you about to test your wings here’s a few tips.
Always and I mean always do your own research on the place you plan on visiting. Check travel guides, seek opinions, contact any friends or family that have been to the area and don’t disregard any information; you never know what might come in handy. When there act like one of the locals, don’t be afraid to haggle if it’s a custom and don’t forget to tip if you can afford it, ask for help if needed, most locales are always ready to help a foreigner. If you’re on an adventure rather than relaxing vacations don’t forget to pack light after all you’ll be carrying your own weight. Pick a bag that gives you maximum storage with the greatest freedom preferably one that will keep your hands free. A great way to pack and save space is to roll you clothes rather than fold them, this will keep them both wrinkle free and save you oodles of space. Most cities offer free or extremely cheap walking tours. You could even befriend a local and travel around the city with them. Upload and keep copies of all your documents and don’t forget to keep copies in a cloud and with your trusted one. This will ensure that in the case of a mishap like muggings, leaving your purse on the train or even having your luggage misplaced at the airport, you will always have a backup. Always keep your loved ones aware of where you are will be staying and visiting in case of emergencies. Use networks that will give you maximum global coverage. Try packing a few books, music or even load you favorite movies and shows on your phone so that if you’re ever feeling bored or alone you can check out your favorite stuff. To avoid jet lag exercise the day before you leave, this will leave to amply tired and later well rested enough to catch up with the time zone of the city you will be visiting. And finally, keep your expenditure in check; don’t go buying up everything you see. In fact make an everyday budget with an extra bundle for shopping.
So there you have it folks, strap on that bag and take to the road for a happy, safe travel
