Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump stirred up controversy yet again when he said that women who have illegal abortions should be “punished.”
His comments came during a heated interview on MSNBC on Wednesday, and he later backpedalled after his controversial comments garnered a lot of criticism said reports from AFP. Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton stated that Trump’s comments were “horrific,” while Bernie Sanders termed it “shameful.” Trump’s statement even drew out harsh criticism from pro-life groups, who were strongly against punishing women who get abortions.
When asked if the man responsible for getting the woman pregnant should be punished, Trump responded saying, “I would say no.”
