In Professor Stephen Hawking’s book, “A brief history of time”, it had been mentioned that the black holes were created from the death of the stars.
This death was caused by losing its illumination after a great amount of time, maybe a billion of years can be the cause of this. According to Chandrasekhar’s limit, if the mass of the star is less than 1.4 times the mass of sun, the star remains as white dwarf forever. But if it exceeds 1.4 x mass of the sun then it starts expanding and finally becomes a black hole. So, it can be said that the black hole comes out from a single start.
Now, the question arises if multiple black holes, that is if 2 black holes merge, was those created from a single death of a star?
The answer to this question is pretty much complicated. About 1.3 million years ago, black holes merging with each other started to create ripples in the frame of inertia of space-time which is known as gravitational wave. On February 11, 2016, the astrophysicists for the first time announced that they detected such kind of waves. But their different proposals contradict their sideline of hypothesis.
Their proposals include:
1.A proposal of hypothesis, how the black holes collide.
2.A proposal of hypothesis, how two separate black holes get into the ring and merge.
These 2 ideas are now under supervision, and will be known after any successful research in the near future.
Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics demanded that two black holes can be emerged from a single star. Avi Loeb, a renowned astrophysicist of the centre combared a pregnant woman with twins in her to that.
By the fusion of Hydrogen gas into Helium through a powerful reaction, the stars run out of fuel. When a star, which is 10 times larger than the sun, if ends up in their fuel supply through reaction like this, that will explode like Supernova. Albert Einstein first denoted the space and time contraction and expansion can cause the waves of creation of black holes.
Since, the scientific experimental proves are yet to be found, the theories have proved that single stars can give birth to 2 black holes after her death.
