Introduction: Education is a basic need for mankind as all as human resource development. In the present world, there is ample scope to be education. There are different branches and components in the educational arena. They are general education, scientific education and technical education and so on. Every branch or subject is equally important for the development of mankind. Actually civilization and culture develop through education. In ancient time, Greece and Rome flourished only by virtue of education. In those days Plato, Aristotle and Socrates worked in this line and introduce various educational system and devices through which the citizens were directly benefitted and could easily improve the status and face other people among their states and outside the states promptly and efficiently.
If every individual gets proper education, he/she can contribute to the total civilization and cultural arena. If a society is being developed, it can share or contribute to the other socio-economic spheres. Ultimately total development is possible and it can be achieved through education.
Present Educational Trend and Position in our Society: In our country education is not in an optimum standard or position. From primary level to higher education minimum standard is not maintained here. In the 80% institutions, the teachers & students do not have their endeavor to reach the desired goal. Nobody is found serious in their respective profession to attain their knowledge and develop skill. They even hesitate to honor the very saying “Knowledge for Knowledge Sake”. They devote themselves to “Knowledge for income Sake only”. The teachers only think how to increase the rate of pass percentage by fair means or foul. Standard is not a factor to them. They do not even think of obtaining distinction marks, extra ordinary result or some sorts of brilliant success.
Both the students and teachers are being satisfied with an average result only. If somehow a degree is obtained, a student gets a social position. By the capacity of so called degree, ours students are being employed in the nation building activities. Having no knowledge, our students are obtaining the degree & getting the opportunity of better employment in the field of teaching, management, administration, business and in the national and multinational financial sectors. Consequently advancement is hindered and development becomes a handicap to nation. In the educational institution on adequate number of teachers remain busy with tuition business and coaching based activities. They do not attend classes in time and they are not serious about the job what they are supposed to perform. Moreover performance evaluation is not made from students or authority’s corner. The teachers do not make any lesson plan, progress report or any checklist of scheduled works. They do not guide the students properly and pay any attention for the improvement of their learning. As a result, students lag behind and ultimately they lose their sprit to accomplish the desired study business. Some of the teachers involve themselves with outside business, polities also indulge with internal chaos, conflict, grouping & lobbing etc. So an unrest and tense situation prevail in the educational campus for a prolonged period. Learning sessions are being suspended, scheduled examinations are postponed and ultimately students suffer for negligence & indifferent attitude of the teachers. At times, students become the victims of violence, demonstration, attack, counter attack & damage.
On the other hand, influential so called elites from our society try to establish their dominance by using students and teachers. Those people adopt black art and play foul games by using our teachers and students. Some teachers and students in the name of cheap popularity sell their personality to them and in the long run our teachers and students are being polluted and used for the interest of the nasty politicians. Consequently the established heritage and the hard earned reputation of the educational institution are being hampered. In our country educational arenas are thus polluted and a healthy atmosphere is eradicated. More over at the time of examination our teacher do not dare to take bold steps to refrain the students from copying. As a result, students adopt unfair means in the examination.
Guardians Role: For the betterment of the students, Guardian’s role is very significant and worthwhile. In the family all the school and college going children are being nourished, controlled and managed by their parents.
Parents are treated as their real Guardians. They nourish and look after their children with their passion, love and affection. So in the true sense, parents are the ideal Guardians. They can extend their total support for their children in study. Actually our Guardian’s role is to protect the brilliance by the vigilant action, love, affection, friendly treatment and other cohesive efforts towards their sons and daughter. Our Guardians should form counseling forum and concentrate their efforts to help the concerned authority in eliminating bad management and harmful administration from the campus. Moreover our Guardian’s role should be to guard against evils which may germinate from their own family. They are to keep keen eyes to their school, college and university going children. If the parents are conscious of their children, become watchful to them and can take other remedial measures against crimes undoubtedly, our students will be able to gather proper knowledge and attain brilliant result which will lead them to creativity and a sustainable development of the nation.
A student from a sober and gentle family can never be derailed and corrupted. Because that student follows some sorts of family ethics. If guardians are alert about their children’s carrier and take care of their hopes and aspiration, no children will have a chance to be spoiled.
Secondly, every guardian should have a wide outlook about the present society. In our society, maximum students are being polluted by the associations they belong to. A bed company is good enough to damage one’s good carrier. So our guardians should have their sharp eye to the wrong notions, attitudes and behavioral pattern of the company whom a student accompanies during the study period in the campus. So our guardians must understand the situation and take necessary measures for the remedies. If somebody is polluted by the unhealthy environment he/she should be handled in a very idealistic manner but not in a rough tough way. If egos and sentiments are applied in such cases, again corruption and pollution will spread in an epidemic form. This may pollute on individual forever, which may lead him/her to ruin. This may badly affect our society. Educational authority may arrange parent’s day program and quarterly or six monthly gathering that is progress sharing meeting by teachers, student and guardians. Moreover the guardians should monitor their children’s daily assignment form their teachers. This will bring a positive result to every student. And hence students will be really educated.
Conclusion: If the parents are of realistic nature and build congenial parents children relation, society shall come up with due image, honor and integrity. If children are treated with proper care, every individual will be grownup as an ideal citizen of the state. In the near future, present students will emerge as a responsible statesman, politicians and administrators of nation and responsibility will finally guide, educate and lead a man and nation. Educated man men can take the shoulder to build a nation with full dignity.
