Tk 6cr road work starts at Hakimpur

    DOT Desk: The construction work of 13.48-kilometre long road at Taka 6.5 crore has been started in Hakimpur Upazila of the district, reports The Daily Observer. Executive Engineer of Local Government Engineering Department in Dinajpur Md Khalilur Rahman said under the construction work, the road will be made pucca from Khattamadhabpur to Mongla border area in the upazila.

    At least three contractors were appointed to build the road under three packages.
    He also said the tender was floated for the work in the 2018-19 fiscal year. The road will be built as part of the countrywide development works.
    He further said, under the work, the road will be rolled with sand and earth first. Later, brickbats will be consolidated and the road will be kept open for public communication for two months. After this, the road will be carpeted with bitumen. The contractor has been asked to complete the work within May 31 next.
    During the inauguration, Hakimpur Upazila Awami League President Imdadul Haque Chowdhury, General Secretary Abdur Rahman Liton, and Hili Municipality Mayor Jamil Hossen Chalanta were also present.
