Shahriar Kabir speaks to DOT : We are touring all over the country and requesting voters not to cast their votes for anti-liberation forces. We want a parliament free from any collaborator, or locally known as Rajakar. We are requesting people to cast their votes for the candidates of the pro-liberation forces. We are also requesting people to reject anti-liberation forces, mass murderers, collaborators and fundamentalists.
We have waged our movement for 27 years to ban Jamaat-e-Islami. European Union has urged BNP to sever ties with Jamaat. The US Congress has also echoed the same. BNP and Jamaat are as thick as thieves. Jamaat has an ulterior motive to turn Bangladesh into a Pakistan of Ziaul Haque and an Afghainistan of Molla Omar.
We have held rallies and press conferences and urged BNP not to validate Jamaat and sever ties with Jamaat. We have urged all to join polls in compliance with the constitution, War of Liberation and pluralistic democracy. Anti-liberation force is not allowed to do politics in any country of the world. Bangabandhu banned the politics of Jamaat in the ’72 constitution as they committed mass murder and opposed the Liberation War. Ziaur Rahman rehabilitated the anti-liberation forces in the country’s politics. Khaleda Zia, after coming to power, included them in the cabinet. People bore witness to the atrocities committed by Jamaat during 2001-06 period. Bangladesh will be in a terrible mess if Jamaat-BNP can come to power again. Jamaat has an agenda of taking revenge of conceding defeat in 1971. Jamaat will have to face trial if AL can come to power again. Jammat will be declared illegal. Steps will be taken so that Jamaat cannot go to parliament.
