M Humayun Kabir: ‘Shantite Bijoy Campaign’, a national campaign seeking peace ahead of the next national elections, was launched in Dhaka yesterday with a slogan ‘Bangladesh will win if peace wins.’
The campaign was launched at the Celebrity Hall of the Bangabandhu International Convention Centre (BICC) with the joining of 400 Awami League and BNP leaders organized by Democracy International, reports UNB.
This campaign aims at raising awareness among registered political parties of Bangladesh and candidates in the upcoming national elections in favor of peaceful elections and tolerant politics.
Among others, Prime Minister’s Political Affairs Adviser HT Imam, senior BNP leader Dr Moyeen Khan, US Ambassador to Bangladesh Marcia Bernicat and British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Alison Blake along with senior political leaders attended the event.
A documentary was also screened at the programme began with singing national anthem.
