Dogs unleashed on man over borrowed money

    Desk Report: Rickshaw-puller Abdur Razzak was first beaten up, and two dogs were unleashed upon him on Friday night in Narayanganj, only for asking for his money back, reports Daily Star. Severely injured Razzak filed a case with the Fatullah police station yesterday, accusing one Mahbubur Rahman, 30, their guard Mahiuddin, 40, and two to three other unnamed people. Citing the case statement, Manzur Qader, officer in charge of Fatullah Model Police Station, said Mahiuddin, a guard of a house, borrowed Tk 7,000 from Razzak a few months back. Razzak and Mahiuddin locked in an altercation when Razzak asked him to return the loan on Friday. Mahiuddin with the help of his landlord’s son Mahbubur Rahman and some others took Razzak to the rooftop of their house. They beat him up and later unleashed their pet dogs upon him, who bit Razzak badly. Later, family members of Razzak rescued him and admitted him to Narayanganj General Hospital. OC Manzur Qader said the accused are on the run since the incident. Abdur Razzak said, after beating him, the accused threatened him not to lodge any complaint against them. Later he filed the case upon assurance from police.
