Hurt quota movement leader forced to leave hospital, family alleges

    Abrar Hussain: Family members of one of the injured leaders of quota reform movement alleged that authorities of a hospital in Dhaka forcefully released yesterday.
    Nurul Haque Nur, a  joint convener of Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Odhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad, was injured along with several others in an attack allegedly by Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) members in Dhaka University on June 30, reports The Daily Star.
    Asking for anonymity, a family member of Nur told The Daily Star over phone that they were forced to leave Anwar Khan Modern Medical College Hospital in Dhanmondi around 2:30am even after recurrent requests of staying for the night at the hospital.
    “The officials of Anwar Khan Modern Medical College Hospital informed us around 1:00am that Nur is being discharged as per the instructions of higher authorities,” the family member said.
    “They asked us to take treatment elsewhere.”
    Nur’s family then admitted to another hospital in the city, The Daily Star quoted family sources as saying. They then informed the media that the hospital is forcibly ousting them despite Nur being very ill.
