Salma Leena
The title is confusing and contradictory. It can be regarded as an oxymoron too. So why do on earth I come up with this seemingly wild idea? Well, I am obliged to explain.
As a student of Literature; I happened to go through the works and accomplishments of many famous, talented writers. I regret that I started to enjoy them at my late years of study as during that time I became able to understand them. Do not look down upon me (or look down upon! So what? Look will be in your eyes. None will come in front of me and is going to say, “Excuse me! I have looked down upon you. I have it still on my eyes, Got it?”) because they are genius not I.
I finished my academic year reading modernism and postmodernism. The top modernist and postmodernist writers tend to portray a bleak atmosphere. Though postmodernism tends to ridicule everything, as there is no unified whole existed at all for them, this can be also explained in a broader umbrella of pessimism. Indeed that there is no meaning of this world as keyword of existentialism states for postmodernist literature is not something amusing and to be satisfied about living and life.
My three favorite writers are T S Eliot(especially for his Waste land) , Albert Camus(especially for his The Outsider), Franz Kafka(especially for his The Metamorphosis). Actually it is very hard to choose among all the modernist and postmodernist genius. All of them with their so unique style of writing just mesmerize me! I feel something positive in their negative connotation that gets jam-packed in their works.
There is no doubt that they are all too sensitive towards all the bad happenings that surround them. Now in what contest have you become sensitive? It is when you expect too much. You in the core of your heart trust that everything will be fair. No wrong treatment will occur. Everything will be just heavenly. A utopia is sure to exist. So don’t you think that the painters of pessimism are the people who have the highest positive thinking?
Another point I want to make is that they only feel it essential to present you a picture in advance of something dark and gloomy and everything falling apart just to make you aware of the fact that everything should not fall apart. Humanity is to be upheld .Our responsibility is to care for each other; not to just rush for and rejoice about our individual gain and success. I find this fully amazing and I am loving them!
