When ‘Die Hard’ hit the cinema 1989, it was a groundbreaking idea and changed the landscape of cliched action flick movies forever. They took a familiar idea and put a new spin on it, placing the lone protagonist in a challenging situation. Only this time the hero is an average relatable everyman in the form of John McClane. Since then the basic formula of Die Hard has been ripped off countless times. We have seen Die Hard on a plane ( Passenger 57, Non stop), Die Hard on a boat (Under Siege) and many others.
The similar kinds of film went stale in mid 90s and early 2000s. But seemingly they are coming back again as we have seen some fresh takes on the genre. Even Die Hard series did not die out yet as we are anticipating another installment in the franchise. Also, we have recently seen Olympus Has Fallen and London Has Fallen, showing us that the Die Hard inspired films can still be fun.
