North South University Dr Mubashar Hassan has returned home 44 days after he went missing from Dhaka. His family informed Khilgaon police that he came back to house at around 1:00am on Friday. But, it could not be known where he had over been so far, said Khilgaon police OC Moshiur Rahman. An associate professor at School of Humanities and Social Sciences of NSU, Mubashar had been missing since November 7. His father Motahar Hossain, who then filed a general diary, said Mubashar was dropped off blindfolded in the Airport area. “Mubashar phoned us, saying he did not have money to pay the autorickshaw driver. Duly, we paid the fare”, he added. Mubashar’s sister Tamanna Tasmin said he returned home by a CNG-run auto-rickshaw around 1:00am. “He was very tired and traumatised. So we asked him to take rest first. We are yet to know the details about his kidnapping,” she narrated.Mubashar’s uncle and BIDS Researcher Manzur Hossain said he was researching militancy in the society.His return came just days after a missing journalist, Utpal Das, was found in Narayanganj on Tuesday night. Uptal, a senior reporter of an online news portal, went missing on October 10.
