On Tues-day a Judge Abdur Rahman Sarder of Dhaka’s Fourth Speedy Trial Tribunal delivered the verdict of a of murder of an extortionist in Demra, sentencing four people Md Masum, Al Amin alias Alam, Shafiqul Islam alias Robin, and Md Jahangir Hossain to death, another two Md Babla and Monir Hossain to life term in prison and also fined them TK 20,000.Rana worked as Monir’s assistant of the group of extortionists in Jatrabari. The criminals were convicted for murdering Rana by slitting his throat dumped his body in a village near Demra following a conflict over possession of extorted money, as per details of the verdict.
The court official, Abul Kalam Azad said, The court had recorded statements of 11 persons in the case.
