About 13 thousand CNG Auto-Rickshaws’ with 15 years old licenses will get expired by the end of this year, 31 December. Thus, CNG owners in the Dhaka-Chittagon g megacities, are hurrying to renew all their licenses. But, the CNG drivers are strictly against this. Since, most of these auto-rickshaws are way too old and dangerous to drive any longer. Dhaka-Chittagong CNG Labor Council sent a memorandum to BUET mentioning this. If BUET is willing, the gas-cylinders & engines of these old CNG auto-rickshaws can be replaced, said the council’s general secretary ATM Nazmul Hasan. Bangladesh Passenger Welfare Council is siding with them as well.
