On monday, the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court directed Shawkat Chowdhury, the Jatiya Party lawmaker to pay back the 5 crore taka to Bangladesh Commerce Bank Ltd within 60 days as his connection with two loan scam cases involving Tk 94 crore was found.A five-member bench formed by the Appellate Division under the supervision of Abdul Wahhab Miah, the Acting Chief Justice passed the order.
