yanmar State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi was vehemently denounced at a panel discussion at the ongoing Dhaka Lit fest for denying Myanmar Army’s rape of Rohingya women. The discussion titled as Rohingyas: Landless future took place in the afternoon on the second day into the international literary festival. Panelist Azeem Ibrahim, a US Research Professor, said Suu Kyi’s role had encouraged Myanmar Army to commit the crimes including rape, killing against the Rohingyas. In spite of this serious crisis in Rakhine, Suu Kyi received red carpet welcome has been red carpet welcomed in Europe, in Austria and Germany, he regretted. For other panelists in the session were Ameerah Haq, Jeff Kingston, Justin Rowlatt and Michael Vatikiotis, conducted by the Dhaka Tribune editor Zafar Sobhan.
