Deposed Catalan leader ‘not seeking asylum in Belgium’

    Catalonia’s deposed leader Carles Puigdemont in a public remakes since Catalonia spent two days under Spain’s direct rule and rebellion charges demanded against him, Puigdemont told reporters in Brussels that he didn’t come in Brussels to seek political asylum. He is here in the Brussels as capital of Europe. Though he declined to say when he would go back to Spain. He also said his party would join the next poll in December 21, that was called by the Sapinsh Government after dissolving the government of Catalonia over it’s drive to hold a referendum for create a new country. Earlier, His lawyer Paul Bakaert had told that Puigdemont would seek legal advice on asylum cases, since Spain prosecutor demanded he to be charged of rebellion. This could lead him to 30 years in prison. Catalonia already spent two days under Spain’s direct rule following its regional unsuccessful attempt to create a new country, without any major disruption reported.
