Increasing Health Complexities among Rohingya Refugees: Children Are the Prime Victim

    Children are suffering the most from illness at Rohingya camps. Since, they are most vulnerable victims. Mentioned, former Director of DGHS Prof. Benzir Ahmed, after providing medical services in the Rohingya camps. Local statistics show, 60% of the Rohingyans with health issues, are children.Meantime, UNICEF also reported that 9 thousand children are suffering from malnutrition. Among them, 2 thousand have severe malnutrition related issues. In their ‘Dangerous Condition of Rohingyan Children’ report on 30 October. Thus, Rohingyan children are at condition of high health risk. Even after vaccine runs, health-service providers still fear that their health security is compromised, expressed UNICEF media & communication manager Shakil Ahmed.
    These Rohingyans were deprived of rights of receiving health-services in their own homeland of Myanmar. Hence, it has become very difficult to ensure their health condition in Bangladeshi camps. Some even carry superstitions and denying of medical treatments, said DGHS Director Dr. Abul Kalam Azad at recent event.
